Mindfulness

Today I feel tired, calm, lethargic.
Today my thoughts are stable, unfettered, uncluttered.
Today my body feels achy yet I desire activity.
Today I am mindful.

Of great importance to my personal wellbeing is the practice of mindfulness. It is interesting to note that there is a multi-billion dollar industry on this simple concept. Books, tapes, workshops, conferences, religious affiliations, nonreligious affiliations, tshirts, bracelets, art... all devoted to the simple complexity of "being." To examine yourself in the moment is at first incredibly difficult because we have been socialized to give judgment to all this is. We do not take the opportunity to examine an object's true being. So today my focus is on this "practice." Take a moment to examine you emotions, your thoughts, your physical senses. Remember these things do not take good/bad connotation until we ascribe this thought toward them. In essence, they just are.
